Review: FOGHAT – Fool For The City (50th Anniversary Edition)

I’ll be the first to admit that I was a casual FOGHAT fan at best over the years. I had the opportunity to interview a former member of the group a few years back about their 2021 live release 8 Days On The Road, and that’s when I really started paying attention. In 2023, FOGHAT released their first new studio album in 7 years, Sonic Mojo. I was blown away by the musicianship and the hooky Blues grooves. From there, I started collecting their back catalog from my local vinyl record shops.

On September 12, 2025, Rhino Records is releasing a 50th anniversary edition of FOGHAT‘s first platinum selling album Fool For The City. The British blues rockers’ 5th studio album gets an upgrade in the audio department, as well as a bonus disc/vinyl of a new, never before heard 1975 live performance at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago.
